Description: The Core CPI (Consumer Price Index excluding Food and Energy) measures underlying inflation in the United States by tracking changes in prices paid by urban consumers for a basket of goods and services, excluding the more volatile food and energy components. It is produced by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and is widely used to assess persistent inflation trends and core price pressures in the economy.
