Description: The Core CPI (CPI-U excluding Food and Energy) measures underlying inflation in the United States by tracking price changes paid by urban consumers for a broad basket of goods and services, excluding volatile food and energy components. It is produced by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and is widely used to assess persistent inflation trends.
